Not far from Kazaviti village, there are many montane locations which offer, inter alia, panoramic view of the island and the sea
The archeological Museum of Thasos, in the island’s capital, Limenas, is considered by many one of the most respectable regional museums, due to the variety of its exhibits from the Paleolithic to Roman era. In the museum you can see unique collections of ceramics, sculpture and coins ranging from the 7th century B.C to the 7th century A.C., as well as the 3.5 mt tall kouros statue originally created for the ancient temple of Apollo
Aliki – close to village Panagia- is widely known for its archeological site, where you can see many monuments, as well as the quarries that operated in the island between 6th century B.C and 6th century A.C. In the same location, you can swim in beach Aliki, one of the most beautiful, organized beaches in Thasos
Few kilometers after the village Maries lies the artificial lake, an area of unique beauty, where you can also enjoy the waterfalls
Apart from the sandy beaches, Thasos also has many locations with rocks which results to the shaping of unique formations. One of these is Gkiola, where the water of the sea is captured inside a “pool” created by a circular rock. The water there is warmer than the one in the sea, which makes swimming in it an enjoyable experience. Gkiola lies between Limenaria and the village Astris
Mountain Ipsario is the tallest mountain of Thasos and its top lies in an altitude of 1204 meters above sea. There are many hiking routes that lead to the mountain top, that go through the forest, thus offering an amazing route. Close to the mountain top, you can find the shelter of the local Climbing Association.
